Meet Mongoose - the fierce foursome that are taking Ireland’s alternative folk scene by storm. Their music is an amalgamation of styles, from pop and folk to jazz and traditional Irish. With nods to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Joni Mitchell, Mongoose's influences range from Simon and Garfunkel to Fleetwood Mac to Beyoncé. All four members are individual songwriters, which allows for an ever-evolving soundscape, from hard-edged indie pop and delicate folk to aching ballads and playful tales of love lost. However many comparisons and influences that spring to mind, one thing is certain - Mongoose are something you've never quite heard before. With a debut album under their belt and festival appearances which include Other Voices, Groove, Knockanstockan, Body & Soul, Longitude and Electric Picnic, this unique band are sure to delight with their quick onstage banter, eclectic range of instruments and beautifully crafted songs. They recently supported Glen Hansard at his sold out Vicar Street gig and are currently Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown musicians in residence in the Lexicon library for 2017.
